With spring just around the corner (48 days to be exact, but who's counting?) it's fun to look at some of the styles trending for the upcoming season. The fashion runways and catalogs are full of easily attainable looks for every hair length. The deep side part looks equally as stunning with a fresh pixie cut as it does with long layers.
Many designers at New York's Fashion Week showed slicked back "wet" hair using a variety of hair products including mousse and a blow dryer for added volume paired at the Stella McCartney show. Take the wet look to a new level and add a bold red lip color. Not a fan of showing off your forehead? Try the fringy bangs that were all the rage at Versace, Dior, Alexander Wang and Chloe.
As everything old is new again, the 80's are making a comeback with crimping, big voluminous curls and low slung side ponytails and "blush draping" where cheek color is the focal point of the face and sometimes doubling as eyeshadow. A variety of braided styles are trending now as well, with everything from messy fishtails to half up, half down, "hippie princess" styles popping up all over the fashion world. And for those who prefer a more natural or minimalist look, loose, beachy and messy waves are a snap for all hair lengths with the help of some style spray and a large barrel curling iron. Pair this with the monochromatic makeup looks and the new French manicure for a totally on trend look.
Accessories were also hot at NYFW with everything from ultra glamourous barrettes and combs dripping with crystals pinning back even short styles, to designer belts simply wrapped around sleek ponytails and funky patterned headbands reminiscent of Axl Rose circa Appetite for Destruction.
With all these options for spring, one thing is certain, fashion seems to be having fun again so why not take a lesson from the fashion forward and join in the fun?
